About Us

The 2001 dedication ceremony for the Lod and Carole Cook Conference Center, now known as The Cook Hotel, featured special guest President George H. W. Bush.  He is a personal friend of the lead donors Lod and Carole Cook for whom the build is named.  The gala event was given in honor and appreciation for the many LSU alumni and friends who made generous major gifts to underwrite the building of the facility.

The hotel is owned and operated by the LSU Alumni Association making it the only one of its kind in the world. The hotel is professional operated 24/7/365 and is open to the public.  A national board of managers sets policy and consist of successful entrepreneurs who are dedicated to LSU, the LSU Alumni Association and The Cook Hotel enterprise.

The hotel and adjacent conference center (Lod Cook Alumni Center) have a majestic setting overlooking University Lake and are conveniently located in south Baton Rouge on one of the nation's most beautiful university campuses.  Guest surveys unanimously rate the hotel superior.  Travelers often comment on the ease of access to the best restaurants, LSU activities, downtown and midtown business centers and the Louisiana State Capital Complex.
